SGT develops systems that create bio-hydrogen from renewable biomass waste streams, including bio-diesel refinery waste, brewery waste, and office paper waste. Our key product, the  H2NECXT System™ (pronounced: “H two Next”), is a proprietary microbe-driven energy system (see Figure 1). The system converts biomass waste streams into bio-hydrogen energy which then powers a fuel cell to generate electricity and heat. The H2NECXT System™ economically generates clean bio-energy, and provides low-cost carbon capturing.
  • H2NECXT System™

    SGT’s H2NECXT System™ and its integrated technologies support the U.S. Advanced Energy Initiative - which seeks to diversify the U.S. energy portfolio and to reduce dependence on foreign oil. Any corporation or municipality concerned with creating on-site energy savings, reducing waste and creating a greener planet can use our technology.  Our  prototypes produce bio-hydrogen from  glycerol, a waste product of bio-diesel refining, from brewery waste and from enzyme-processed cellulose in paper waste.
  • The H2NECXT System™ was developed in response to SGT researchers isolating and characterizing  high hydrogen producing microbes. Our microbes release hydrogen gas when fed diverse waste feedstock. When the flow-through system is coupled to a fuel cell it produces on site power and heat.  SGT is currently developing a large scale bio-diesel waste-converting H2NECXT System™.
